Community Impact

2019 — 2025: With a small group of neighbors, founded DC's Ward 4 Mutual Aid group at the height of the pandemic.

• Started with 10+ volunteers communicating over Signal which developed into a group of self-organized 200+ volunteers. 

• In 2024, we raised a total of $130,000 along with in-kind food and essential items.

• Distributed all direct aid, food and essential items to an average of 200 households a month. 

2015 — 2025: Started Houston’s AIDS Walk Golf Tournament and have co-managed for 10 years, raising over $5,000 annually for Allies for Hope (formerly AIDS Foundation Houston) and reaching an average of 60 attendees annually. 

2021 — 2025: Captain of Spokes for Hope Bike MS Team, organizing team logistics and raising an average of $5,000 annually in support of the National MS Society. 

2024: Organized the first block party in 15+ years on 10th St NW reaching 100+ neighbors in an effort to strengthen community ties and safety on our street. 

• DC Ward 1's Neighborhood Commission passed an official Resolution of Commendation to recognize this effort.

• Built a diverse neighborhood coalition to organize the event over six months and, through this effort, started a neighborhood email listserv, which now has 100+ members. 

2017-2025: Fostered 40+ dogs from community organizations including City Dog Rescue, Lucky Dog Rescue, Laila’s Legacy, and K-9 Angels.
